Autumn Wedding at Kentwell Hall Wedding

Returning to provide the wedding photography at Kentwell Hall this week for Liz and Sander, I was able to use my extensive knowledge of the lesser known areas of the wonderful grounds and take them to find new beautiful backdrops for romantic couple portraits. They were a great couple, fun and relaxed, and happy to give me time to create a great set of shots for them.

They were the first couple to have the use of the beautiful Mayflower Wagon of Kentwell Hall and it made a wonderful sight as they came over the moat with the Hall in the background.

I was back once again at one of my favourite venues on Saturday, providing the Kentwell Hall wedding photography for Emily and Edwin. They chose to have their actual ceremony at Emily’s own parish church but with the reception afterwards at the stunning wedding venue of Kentwell Hall. Emily made the most beautiful bride, with her warm engaging smile and together she and Edwin made a very glamorous couple.

There was only a little time to have Emily and Edwin to myself for their couple portraits but they were so easy and natural with each other that in not time at all I had captured a beautiful set of romantic images and they returned to join their family and friends.

The wedding party moved into the Great Hall for the speeches and the guests were fascinated with the rich history of the Hall and the suits of armour and heraldic banners.

As soon as the guests took their seats in the Overcroft for dinner, they quickly started bubble blowing competitions with the favours on the tables. Emily and Edwin waited together outside, enjoying the last rays of the autumn sunshine, perfectly happy with each other.

The evening dancing was started off by Emily and Edwin with a beautifully elegant and stylish First Dance set to ‘This Guy’s in Love with You’ by Herb Alpert and then the rest of the guests joined them on the dance floor to the great sound of the Glen Hurst Band.

Kentwell Hall always looks amazing as you leave and look back at the impressive spotlit facade.

Congratulations to Emily and Edwin. Family and friends can view all the day’s images here with the password set to the couple’s surname:

Gorgeous vintage rustic country wedding

I hope that I can do justice in this blog post to what was a truly fabulous vintage styled wedding, held not too far from my own home. I had met Sarah and Matthew at a previous clients wedding and as soon as they got engaged they called me up to book their own day in my diary. Sarah had obviously really enjoyed planning and collecting all the gorgeous details to add to their ‘vintage rustic country wedding’ theme and the result was a perfect, relaxed day for this great fun couple.

As I arrived at Sarah’s family home where the reception was to be held, there was a hive of activity in the garden where friends and family were putting the finishing touches to the vintage wedding accessories. The garden was filled with colour, with pastel bunting strung in the trees, pretty ribbons tied around hundreds of little candle jars, extravagant bunches of country flowers on the tables and tall majestic sunflowers growing in the borders.

Sarah herself was upstairs getting ready, relaxed and happy with a glass of champagne in her hand and thoroughly enjoying every minute!

I headed off to the nearby parish church to find Matthew with his best man and ushers. Matthew is one of the warmest people I have met and he was already greeting friends as they arrived and absolutely loving what was going to be a memorable day! The rustic country theme was evident at the church too, with big bunches of flowers in the entrance and the signature sunflower used to brighten up the men’s morning suits. Sarah looked so stunning as she came up the aisle and during the wedding ceremony itself, they both had big smiles from start to finish!

As everyone came out of the church into the sunshine, it was clear what a close group of friends Sarah and Matthew have and everywhere I pointed my camera I was rewarded with an image of warm and joyful greetings…

Back at the house, there followed the perfect relaxed country afternoon garden party, with Sarah and Matthew simply enjoying hosting their friends with good food, plentiful wine and everyone having time to chat and catch up with each other. There was an extra special surprise for Sarah – Matthew had organised a string quartet to play for her.

I had time to wander around the garden and found the thriving veggie plot and very friendly hens. I was really pleased when not only Sarah and Matthew wandered into view for some romantic couple shots but also Sarah’s lovely mum arrived, complete with wellies, watering can and fascinator still in place on her head as she came to feed the hens!

There was a marquee set up for the evening and some very revealing speeches were greatly appreciated by the guests (although no one appeared that surprised at some of the antics revealed) and then the evening guests arrived, staying outside and chatting as the sun set over the recently harvested surrounding fields.

I really hope I have managed to convey what a very special day it was and family and friends can view the complete set of pictures here:  http://www.everybodysmile.biz/cgi-bin/public.cgi?Id=163078

Woodhall Manor Wedding Photography

Gemma and Colin’s wedding day at the beginning of September was blessed with perfect weather. The day started at Gemma’s parents home where she got ready with the help of her bridesmaids and her brother who just happened to be a top class hairdresser! Gemma looked absolutely radiant as I left and headed for the church to find Colin.

The church was filled with the couple’s friends and I was given a good vantage point by the kindly vicar enabling me to discreetly capture images throughout the ceremony.

Gemma looked so happy as she walked down the aisle on the arm of a very proud husband and out into the sunshine to be greeted by their family and friends.

The wedding party moved on to the lovely Suffolk wedding venue of Woodhall Manor where the ever helpful Faye was ready to receive them. After a few photographs with their wedding car at the front of the Hall, the couple joined their guests for Pimm’s and canapes on the lawn.

Gemma and Colin gave me lots of time for their couple portraits session and they were absolute naturals – a delight to work with. The wedding breakfast at Woodhall Manor is held in an adjoining building and Gemma had decorated it with white roses and trailing dark green ivy.

Gemma and Colin were lovely clients. They were dancing away as I waved goodbye but by the time I had reached the door, they had both left the dance floor and followed me to the door to thank me and say goodbye to both me any my assistant Ollie. Wishing you both congratulations and happy times ahead xx

Yaxley Hall Wedding Photography

Just a very small preview of a lovely wedding I photographed last week at Yaxley Hall in Suffolk. Katie and Matt had paid great attention to detail in their plans and their hard work certainly paid off as their guests were treated to a beautiful wedding. I particularly loved the pretty flowers in soft muted country colours and Katie’s beautiful dress which perfectly complemented her colouring.

Katie and Matt were lucky with the weather as the rather brisk wind died away and the guests were able to spend the afternoon in the garden in some lovely warm sunshine.

The little bridesmaids particularly had a great time, carefree and happily climbing the trees in the Yaxley Hall gardens.

There will be lots more pictures for family and friends to view and so please register here to be kept informed as to when they are ready
