Essex wedding photography for Alice and Stuart

Alice and Stuart were blessed with one of the few beautiful days this summer for their wedding at the popular village of Coggeshall, in Essex. Alices’s family have lived in Coggeshall for many years and it seemed that the whole village turned out to wish her well as she arrived at the local parish church. Bridal preparations were a breeze to photograph with Alice, one of the most serene and happy brides I have photographed this season. I have selected a few images from the day here but to register to see all the day’s pictures, visit; Alice & Stuart

The family live in a gorgeous historic village house in this popular Essex village and it provided a fantastic backdrop with it’s ancient beams and mullioned windows. Alice was a joy to work with, excited but calm during the bridal preparations and having lots of fun with her bridesmaids. She photographed beautifully, with her tiny waist and enigmatic smile … with a look that was reminiscent of an elegant time gone by!

The local church was filled with family and friends and with the most beautiful stained glass window in the background. Alice arrived in her father’s vintage car and her entry to the beautiful Coggeshall parish church was accompanied by a military piper. After the moving ceremony, Stuart and Alice came out into rare June sunshine and I was able to capture some of my favourite images from the day, the newly weds being greeted by their friends and being showered by confetti.

The reception was held at a stunning local historic Essex farmhouse, with Pimms and canapés in plentiful supply.

Alice and Stuart had wisely made plans before the day, to have enough time to slip away during the reception for me to capture some romantic couple portraits making good use of the stunning Essex valley landscape. A further set of pictures was taken as they waited for their guests to take their places in the marquee.

There was a wonderful moment for everyone after the meal, as Alice, a very talented violinist, surprised everyone with an impromptu solo. This was followed by a set of great speeches and a beautiful First Dance as Stuart and Alice started the evening entertainment.

My congratulations to Alice and Stuart …  thank you for letting me share your wonderful wedding day and my best wishes for the future. xx

Wedding Photography at Otley Hall, Suffolk.

My third time back at Otley Hall this season and this time it was for the beautiful wedding of Georgina and Matthew. In keeping with the county’s benevolent weather patterns, the rain across the rest of the country stayed away and the guests enjoyed a warm summer’s evening, staying outside in the beautiful gardens of Otley Hall until late into the evening.

Georgina was supported thoughout the day by three lovely bridesmaids, including her own twin sister who is also getting married this year. The day started off in the small Suffolk village of Coddenham and the reception afterwards was held at Otley Hall. Here are a very few images to give a sneak preview from their happy day. To view all the pictures once Matthew and Georgina have had a chance to see them first, please ‘Like’ my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/suffolkweddingphotography  or register here to be notified by email when they are ready:  www.everybodysmile.biz/cgi-bin/public.cgi?Id=156910

Yaxley Hall wedding photography

Hettie and Toby held their beautiful wedding at Yaxley Hall in May. I think this might have been one of the only lovely days in May, just perfect for their Yaxley Hall Wedding Photography with the warm evening sun casting long shadows for the children to jump over.

I really enjoyed photographing their wedding with the many gorgeous details Hettie had collected giving a lovely vintage feel to the day. As you can see, she was the most stunning bride, very serene and composed on the day and she and Toby were clearly blissfully happy to be creating their own new little family. Here is a quick flavour of the day. To register to see all the images, please visit: http://www.everybodysmile.biz/cgi-bin/public.cgi?Id=156225 and put in the couple’s surname.

Yaxley Hall is a beautiful old house which really gives couples and their guests the feeling of a wedding at home but with immaculate surroundings and service. The bridal preparation rooms are quite dark but they have a real feeling of character with their ornately carved four poster beds and original artwork. Beautiful portraits of Hettie show her gorgeous dress and accessories, all carefully labelled with vintage luggage tags.

After the ceremony, Toby and Hettie travelled back to Yaxley Hall in a fabulous vintage Morris Minor which was having it’s first outing at a wedding. The chauffeur had one of the biggest smiles of the day as it behaved impeccably and started first time!

The many children at the wedding thoroughly enjoyed exploring the garden and spent the evening running in and out of the woods wearing their gorgeous little tutu bridesmaids dresses.

The vintage wedding photography  theme was continued into the marquee with an array of beautiful accessories collected over the last few months by Hettie. There were wicker hearts, vintage cases for gifts and cards, table names displayed in lovely miniature photo frames and flowers and ivy winding through the iron display stands.

After the meal, the guests were surprised by an old fashioned ice cream cart which had set up outside the marquee and business was brisk right through the evening with people making the most of the lovely warm evening. After Toby and Hettie’ first dance, the dance floor was very popular with all the young cousins who stepped up to show the grown ups how to do it!

Congratulations to Toby and Hettie and thank you for sharing your wonderful day. xx

Hands down …… a fabulous wedding!

I had been really looking forward to the wedding of Tonya and Andy, with the ceremony at the beautiful church of Long Melford and my first of several weddings at Kentwell Hall this year. This perfect Suffolk wedding venue is probably at its best in the Spring, with the lawns either side of the long drive carpeted with yellow daffodils and new baby lambs in the neighbouring fields.

I started off the day at what is fast becoming ‘the place’ for bridal preparation in this area, The Old Rectory at Lavenham. There were no less than 4 brides getting ready on this bright Spring morning and Tonya had an entire suite of rooms for herself and her bridesmaids. Tonya made a very beautiful bride and her choice of dress, feather light veil and pretty country flowers in pastel shades were the perfect accessories.

Over at Long Melford church, I met Andy and his ushers at the church doors greeting their guests and it was immediately obvious that the day was going to be enormous fun! There was already a party atmosphere amongst the guests  with many of those who had driven up from London that morning, very happy to find themselves in such a perfect part of the Suffolk countryside. Andy displayed the calm manner and steady hands obviously acquired in his work as a hand surgeon as he went to the front of the church to await the arrival of his beautiful bride.

There was very little photography allowed during the ceremony at Long Melford church but the image below of the sun streaming through the beautiful tall windows will bring back memories of the moment of their marriage for Tonya and Andy.

The Suffolk wedding venue of Kentwell Hall is only just around the corner from the church but a big red London Bus had been laid on to transport the guests up the mile long drive and helped protect the gorgeous array of designer shoes on display!

The guests took advantage of one of the first warmer days of Spring and wandered around the grounds of the Hall in the evening sunshine. Tonya and Andy took some time out and followed me to find some quieter corners of the gardens for a set of beautiful wedding portraits. They were both absolute naturals in front of the camera and great fun to work with.

A few images to show just what a stunning setting Kentwell Hall is for a Suffolk wedding venue….

The Overcroft Room was needed to seat their family and many friends and Tonya and Andy entered to much cheering as the new “Mr and Mrs H’ was announced. I had expected the evening celebrations to be ‘enthusiastic’ ….. and I was not disappointed with both the bride and groom and most of the guests barely leaving the dance floor!

The flares along the drive lit up the Hall as the guests left what was ‘hands down’ a fabulous wedding. For all the day’s pictures, please visit: www.everybodysmile.biz/cgi-bin/public.cgi?Id=150473
