The month of May took me to two new wedding venues I hadn’t previously worked at before. St Peter’s Hall at Bungay, is in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. It is a charming place for a smaller, intimate wedding with a gracious dining hall and surrounded by a moat. My clients preferred to keep their own wedding images private but here are a few shots of this interesting venue. If you were a guest at the wedding and would like to see Heather and Mike’s pictures, please register here to see them.

The following week, I travelled right up to the top of East Anglia, to a fabulous place called Voewood House. This amazing house is one of the great architectural gems of the Arts and Crafts movement. The detailed care lavished on the house has produced a unique atmosphere that can be enjoyed both as a wedding venue and as the ultimate country house weekend. My clients had hired the entire property for the weekend and so many of their family and guests arrived on Friday night looking forward to a three day party!
Karen and Glen were keen to keep their wedding day as relaxed as possible, and in this spirit, the bridal preparations were very calm and unhurried …. By the time I arrived with the groom at the ceremony room, I wondered if he might be a little anxious for his bride to arrive but I soon realised that Glen was a wonderfully laid back and easy going chap who was happy for the day to stay as relaxed and spontaneous as possible! Karen arrived in style with her father in an open topped classic car and the ceremony began.

The guests were able to stand out on the large terraces for most of the reception and wander around the glorious sunken gardens before the rain started. Luckily, I had already taken the opportunity to capture some beautiful romantic portraits of Glen and Karen in some of the hidden corners of the gardens.
The central Hall was decorated with simple but beautiful wild flower arrangements, in keeping with the natural, relaxed theme of this wedding. After some very emotional and heartfelt speeches, the guests continued to enjoy the warm evening out on the terrace overlooking the fairylights around the garden.

If you were a guest at the wedding and would like to see more of the pictures taken on the day, you can register here to see them once Karen and Glen return from their honeymoon.
