Hands down …… a fabulous wedding!

I had been really looking forward to the wedding of Tonya and Andy, with the ceremony at the beautiful church of Long Melford and my first of several weddings at Kentwell Hall this year. This perfect Suffolk wedding venue is probably at its best in the Spring, with the lawns either side of the long drive carpeted with yellow daffodils and new baby lambs in the neighbouring fields.

I started off the day at what is fast becoming ‘the place’ for bridal preparation in this area, The Old Rectory at Lavenham. There were no less than 4 brides getting ready on this bright Spring morning and Tonya had an entire suite of rooms for herself and her bridesmaids. Tonya made a very beautiful bride and her choice of dress, feather light veil and pretty country flowers in pastel shades were the perfect accessories.

Over at Long Melford church, I met Andy and his ushers at the church doors greeting their guests and it was immediately obvious that the day was going to be enormous fun! There was already a party atmosphere amongst the guests  with many of those who had driven up from London that morning, very happy to find themselves in such a perfect part of the Suffolk countryside. Andy displayed the calm manner and steady hands obviously acquired in his work as a hand surgeon as he went to the front of the church to await the arrival of his beautiful bride.

There was very little photography allowed during the ceremony at Long Melford church but the image below of the sun streaming through the beautiful tall windows will bring back memories of the moment of their marriage for Tonya and Andy.

The Suffolk wedding venue of Kentwell Hall is only just around the corner from the church but a big red London Bus had been laid on to transport the guests up the mile long drive and helped protect the gorgeous array of designer shoes on display!

The guests took advantage of one of the first warmer days of Spring and wandered around the grounds of the Hall in the evening sunshine. Tonya and Andy took some time out and followed me to find some quieter corners of the gardens for a set of beautiful wedding portraits. They were both absolute naturals in front of the camera and great fun to work with.

A few images to show just what a stunning setting Kentwell Hall is for a Suffolk wedding venue….

The Overcroft Room was needed to seat their family and many friends and Tonya and Andy entered to much cheering as the new “Mr and Mrs H’ was announced. I had expected the evening celebrations to be ‘enthusiastic’ ….. and I was not disappointed with both the bride and groom and most of the guests barely leaving the dance floor!

The flares along the drive lit up the Hall as the guests left what was ‘hands down’ a fabulous wedding. For all the day’s pictures, please visit: www.everybodysmile.biz/cgi-bin/public.cgi?Id=150473
